Beets and goat cheese are a classic pairing for salads and appetizers – Beet & Goat Cheese Crostini!. For a little extra zing, add in our Pickled Dilly Beets that nicely offset rich goat cheese and toasted pecans.
Simply replace the vermouth with a touch of Pernicious' Sweet 'n Sour Pickled Red Onion brine, plus a sliver to garnish.
We were beyond thrilled when asked to participate in the James Beard Foundation's Taste America LA events. On Friday night, our pickles were featured in a silent auction bid with goodies from heavy hitters Chef Edward Lee and Le Creuset. On Saturday at Sur La Table, we sampled our pickles while featured Chef Aarón Sánchez gave a cooking class and book signing.
Having only a few days in Barcelona didn't stop us from tasting as many preserved foods as we possibly could.
Incredibly honored to be part of The Fare Trade's October box featuring Food & Wine Best New Chef: Northwest, Chef Jenn Louis. We're especially in love with her recipe for Cabbage & Fennel Slaw with our Pickled Ginger Carrots! Check out Jenn's basket + her exclusive recipes at TheFareTrade.com/blog and read our interview for their "Meet the Local" column here.

Had a fantastic time showcasing our pickled lovelies at Williams-Sonoma Santa Monica's Artisans' Market (while practicing our non-dance moves).
The Prince & Pantry is a full-service catering company that boasts quite the client list – let's just say it's not uncommon for his patrons to arrive by private jet. This particular event was for the Grand Opening Party at 503Found. We were delighted to supply an array of pickled vegetables for the crostini bar.
You would think the lovely folks at Oakland-based Baia Pasta have their hands full, making small-batch, slow-dried, artisanal pasta with organic, American-grown grains. Somehow, they also have time to keep their Instagram feed full of delicious-looking concoctions, such as this farmers market salad with their Thai Red Curry flavored Whole Kamut ringlets and our Pickled "Ginger & Spice" Carrots.
From Baia: "This hot mess of a plate was really delicious and it features our experimental batch of Thai Red Curry flavored Whole Kamut® ringlets with loads of farmers' market goodies. Thai Red Curry flavored whole Kamut® ringlets + onion + summer squash + yellow bell pepper + charred corn + charred shishito peppers + cilantro + basil + scallions + Pernicious Pickling's Ginger & Spice pickled carrots + Other Brother Co.'s Smooth olive oil."
Running a small business is often an All Hands On Deck endeavor. But we also see it as a way to get B's teenage daughter to put down her iPhone, tell her friends she'll hang tomorrow instead, and spend some one-on-one time with her dad. We love being able to offer a "summer job" where we get to connect with her, hear the latest High School gossip, and share the art and business of pickling.
